R&B singer Coco Jones and NBA star Donovan Mitchell announced their engagement after dating for two years. In a July 11 post on Instagram, the newly engaged couple shared a kiss while she showed off her pricey diamond engagement ring.
The Cleveland Cavaliers guard led his team to the 2025 NBA Playoffs.
In a joint statement to PEOPLE, a rep wrote: “After an amazing season and a sold-out tour, Donovan Mitchell and Coco Jones took a moment to recharge on vacation, which turned it into a beautiful engagement. The couple has been dating for two years and look forward to building a life together.
No wedding date has been announced yet. Coco kept their relationship under wraps during their first year of dating.
When asked about her relationship during an appearance on The Breakfast Club in April, Coco replied, “I’m happy and that’s all I’ve got to say about it.”
In a February appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay, Coco acknowledged the Internet is not a good place to share details about a relationship.
“I love the internet because they definitely clocked my tea. I love that. Little spies everywhere. I feel like I’m in a detective movie,” she said. “But you know what, I’m happy. And I will say my music is the outlet that I use to tell most of my stories and my truth, and some things I keep for myself ’cause this is my life, too.”
She continued: “I think, for me, I’m trying to protect myself, and I’m trying to protect my family and whoever I love. So, yeah, I am more private.”
