Chris Brown’s ex Karrueche Tran was by Deion Sanders‘ side when he had surgery to remove his bladder in May.
In a video uploaded to YouTube by Deion’s son, Deion Sanders Jr., a tearful Karrueche sat in a hospital room with Deion as he prepared for surgery.
Wiping away tears, she said, “We are dealing with bladder cancer… He is having his bladder removed.”
She explained that doctors would create a new bladder for Deion using a piece of his small intestine. The intestine is formed into a tube that connects the kidneys to a urostomy (hole) in his abdomen that then drains urine into a bag.
She continued: “And I guess this option was the best because it fully removes the cancer to ensure that it doesn’t come back because it was close to his muscle. So, yeah, we’re here to fully remove the bladder…”
The camera then panned to Deion, who was sitting nearby.
In a press conference on Monday, Deion announced he was diagnosed with bladder cancer during a checkup earlier this year.
Deion underwent surgery after his son Shedeur’s NFL Draft day controversy.
“There was some scenes you saw, all the bull junk that’s transpired on draft day,” Sanders said on Monday.
“It wasn’t just that. It was just, I knew as well I had a surgery coming up. My sons, to this day, don’t know what transpired, I just told them it was something with my foot, because I wanted to give them the focus on making the team and not focused on dad.”
“Get checked out,” Deion urged his fans. “Because (this) could have been a whole (other) gathering if I hadn’t.”
