Migos rapper Quavo’s Rocket Foundation has launched a fund for victims of Atlanta shootings.
Quavo and his late nephew Takeoff’s family launched the fund after 49 people were shot in Atlanta last weekend.
Two of the shooting victims were directly linked to the Rocket Foundation: Deshawn Johnson, a 2024 Rocket Camper, and Coach Ball, leader of Offenders Alumni Association and a Rocket grantee.
Quavo launched the Rocket Foundation in 2022 after Migos member Takeoff was shot and killed outside a Houston bowling alley. The rapper committed $2 million to invest in community violence intervention. In May, he named Gregory Jackson Jr. as president of the foundation. Jackson is former Deputy Director for the first-ever White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention.
Atlanta has seen a dramatic increase in gun violence since 2020. Violent crime is up by 16% so far in 2025. Assaults have increased by 18% in mid-July.
According to a press release, the fund will provide trauma expert therapeutic services for children and families. The fund will also support organizations, Hope Hustlers and Offenders Alumni, who are leading the fight to end the cycle of gun violence and offer ongoing mentorship and support in affected Atlanta neighborhoods.
