Spike Lee‘s multi-part documentary about ex-NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s racial injustice protests has been canceled.

The cancellation comes amid drama between Colin’s wife, Nessa Diab, the NFL and rap mogul Jay-Z.

ESPN said the documentary, directed by Spike Lee, was canceled due to “creative differences.”

“ESPN, Colin Kaepernick and Spike Lee have collectively decided to no longer proceed with this project as a result of certain creative differences,” ESPN said in a statement to Reuters.

A disappointed Spike Lee told Reuters the documentary was not coming out, and he was under a nondisclosure agreement not to speak on the project.

“It’s not coming out. That’s all I can say,” Lee said on the red carpet at the Harold and Carole Pump Foundation dinner in Beverly Hills, California.

But insiders say the documentary was canceled after Colin’s wife, Nessa, went Rambo on the NFL for suppressing his chances to sign with a team.

In a livestream video in July, Nessa criticized the NFL and Jay-Z for conspiring to keep her husband out of the league.

Colin won a $10 million lawsuit against NFL team owners in 2019. In his lawsuit, he alleged that team owners colluded to keep him out of the league after he refused to stand for the national anthem in 2016.

Nessa, a radio show host and podcaster, said the NFL “used Jay-Z” by paying him millions to “smooth over” the criticism leveled at NFL team owners for refusing to sign Colin.

Nessa said the NFL and Jay-Z participated in a “smear campaign” to “blackball Colin.”

“He was never offered a job (with a team) the minute he protested. Never. Never,” she said. “Like I said then, Jay-Z never spoke to Colin before he made that deal with the NFL, no. He only spoke to Colin after he made that deal and he was OK with the deal and knew exactly what it would do to Colin, and he was ok with it. You know how I know? I was there, I heard the conversation.”
