NFL legends Deion Sanders, Jerry Rice and Terrell Owens watched as their sons’ dreams were crushed by NFL teams this week.

Shilo Sanders (pictured above) was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, after the 25-year-old safety threw a punch at a Buffalo Bills player on Saturday.

“You can’t throw punches in this league. It’s inexcusable. They’re gonna get you every time,” Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles said. “You gotta grow from that.”

Speaking to reporters in Boulder, CO. on Tuesday, Deion said he’s “praying” that Shilo gets another opportunity to play in the NFL.

“I’m proud of my kids, all of them,” he said. “I prepared my kids for any and everything that could possibly happen in life and in sports. That’s part of fathering, that’s part of parenting, that’s part of having a relationship. So, he is mentally where he needs to be, physically where he needs to be.”

Deion continued: “We’re praying that he gets another opportunity to go with a team. But if he doesn’t, the plans have already been put forward to what he’s gonna do next. Shilo’s a man of many talents… and he’s going to be straight. All of the Sanders are going to be straight – with or without football. You better believe that.”

The San Francisco 49ers waived Terique Owens, son of 49ers legend Terrell Owens, ahead of Tuesday’s deadline for teams to cut their rosters down to 53 players.

Brenden Rice, 23, was cut by the Los Angeles Chargers on Tuesday.

Brenden (pictured with dad Jerry) was a seventh-round draft choice of the Chargers last year. He played in three games as a rookie without a catch in those games.
