Actress Nicole Kidman has filed for divorce from country singer Keith Urban after 19 years of marriage.

The Nashville Tennessean obtained court papers filed on Monday, Sept. 29, in Tennessee. The divorce filings include a signed marital dissolution agreement, a parenting plan and a child support worksheet.

The paperwork confirms Kidman and Urban live in separate Nashville homes.

Kidman cited “irreconcilable differences” as grounds for divorce.

Urban, 57, and Kidman, 58, are parents to two daughters, 17-year-old Sunday Rose and 14-year-old Faith Margaret. Kidman asked the court to name her “primary residential parent of the minor children.”

They met in January 2005, when both were being honored at G’Day L.A., an annual gala in Los Angeles hosted by the American Australian Association.

“It sounds a bit like a pickup line from ‘Crocodile Dundee,'” Urban said during a speech last year.

“I was trying to play it cool, but inside I felt like I’d snuck into the royal ball,” he said, before adding that Kidman had an “otherworldly aura about her. I felt a bit like I was meeting a real-life princess.”

The couple married in their native Australia in 2006. They celebrated their 19th anniversary on June 25, 2025.

Soon after they married, Urban began hitting the bottle hard. Urban said Kidman called an intervention for him, which changed his life.

About four months after the marriage, Urban checked himself into rehab and stayed for three months.

“I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole and the ones that love and support me,” he said at the time.

Kidman was previously married to A-list actor Tom Cruise. They adopted two children, Isabella, 32, and Connor, 30. They divorced in 2001 after more than a decade together.
