NBA YoungBoy performed in Atlanta on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at State Farm Arena.

Earlier in the day, the rapper’s rep took to social media to announce that YoungBoy received a key to the city.

However, local officials clarified on Thursday that the City of Atlanta played no role in presenting the promiscuous rapper with the key.

Officials say the key came from lawmakers in Fulton County and the state of Georgia. Atlanta and Fulton County are majority Democrat, but Georgia is a red state.

Last year, the rapper, real name Kentrell Gaulden, was on house arrest in Utah awaiting trial on weapons charges.

He was arrested in April 2024 for running a prescription drug ring out of his Utah residence.

The 25-year-old father-of-14 pled guilty on November 18, 2024 to two counts of third-degree felony identity fraud, two counts of felony forgery, and six counts of misdemeanor unlawful pharmacy conduct.

He was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison followed by five years of probation.

YoungBoy was pardoned by President Trump in May 2025.
