Gucci Mane’s wife, Keyshia Ka’oir-Davis, shocked his fans when she revealed his struggles with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Keyshia opened up about the Atlanta rapper’s mental health struggles in an appearance on The Breakfast Club on Monday.
Keyshia explained how she protects her husband’s rap career by scrubbing his social media apps from his phone when he’s having an episode.
“I have a system — I take his apps off his phone,” she said. “First thing I do, I delete Instagram. I delete everything. Even if I gotta change his password, I’m changing it because I don’t need the public to know he’s having an episode.”
Keyshia continued: “I control that. You’re not going on Instagram, you’re not going on Twitter, it’s deleted. I control everything at home. Now, before the episodes come, I catch it. That’s why he hasn’t had another one. How you catch it is he doesn’t speak to you, he wants to be left alone, he don’t eat, he does not sleep. Text messages there’s a period after each word.”
Co-host Charlamagne brought up Kim Kardashian explaining how her ex-husband, Ye West, gave away his Lamgborghinis when he was having a manic episode.
Gucci Mane said he did the same, but with jewelry.
“I gave away jewelry. Jewelry costs so much, I would give my friends jewelry. They knew I wasn’t well, but they’d take it,” he said. “When I got out of jail, I cut off all my friends. I’m like, ‘Damn, they was taking advantage.'”
“I mean, the things he would say are really, really bad,” Keyshia continued. “And I just have to, like, take a deep breath, and I said ‘I’m not talking to you right now. You want to sit here and be crazy alone? I’m not going to allow you to be crazy alone.”
Keyshia recorded her husband’s explosive outbursts so she could replay them for him later.
But the Internet suggests she’s recording Gucci Mane to use against him as evidence.
Gucci Mane deals with schizophrenia but he has a partner that actually loves him & he did the work to better manage it. His wife Keyshia planned a kidnapping just to get him to the hospital & he hasn’t had an episode since. This is real love, not someone being exploited. pic.twitter.com/0wWSGxHLDf

The Internet compared their shocking interview to Mike Tyson and Robin Givens’ infamous 1988 interview with the late Barbara Walters on ABC’s 20/20.
In the interview, a sedated Mike Tyson sat next to his then-wife as she casually threw him under the bus and told millions of viewers how she feared her husband.
“I think that there’s a time when he cannot control his temper and that’s frightening to me,” Robin told Barbara. “Just recently I’ve become afraid. I mean very, very much afraid.”
The couple officially separated less than a year later.
with all this Mike Tyson talk right now, let's not forget that he physically abused Robin Givens during their entire relationship
