Lil Nas X returned to social media with a cryptic message on Tuesday. It was the country music rapper’s first return to social media since his shocking mental breakdown and arrest in Los Angeles in August.

Nas’s return to social media coincided with Tuesday’s LAPD announcement that alt-pop singer David Anthony Burke, a.k.a. D4vd, is a suspect in the death of 15-year-old runaway Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

Celeste’s dismembered body was found on Sept. 8 in the trunk of a Tesla registered to the singer. The car was towed to a police impound lot on Sept. 5. Tow yard workers called 911 after noticing a foul odor.

Investigators with the LAPD say D4vd is “uncooperative” and he had help to dismember his girlfriend. D4vd allegedly drove to a rural area in Santa Barbara County in the spring of 2025 where he stayed for three hours. It is unclear what he did there.

In a message on Instagram on Tuesday, Lil Nas wrote, “I love u and can’t wait to see you again in dreamworld.”

Lil Nas and D4vd collaborated on the track “Strange Times” in early 2024. In an interview, D4vd said he recorded four unreleased songs with Lil Nas, including “Rendezvous” and “Tell Me What I’m Missing.”

Lil Nas (born Montero Hill) appeared in court on Tuesday, Nov. 17, to face four felony charges after authorities said he assaulted police officers. The rapper has since completed inpatient drug treatment and is doing well, according to his lawyer.

His next court date is set for March 12, 2026.

A fan on a sub Reddit wrote in a comment:

“Did Lil Nas know or even sense that he could ‘return’ to the coliseum today because something was going to give with respect to d4vd? Maybe not. Or maybe something else entirely which we cannot even fathom.”
