Daytime TV host Sherri Shepherd was honored with her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday.

The beloved actress and comedienne was celebrated for her decades-long career in entertainment.

Her proud son, Jeffrey Tarpley Jr., 20, was there for his mom’s special moment. Sherri referred to Jeffrey in her speech, saying he “will always be my baby.”

According to Tami Reed, of Talkingwithtami.com, Sherri wore a purple, off the shoulder dress by Sergio Hudson and Amina Muaddi shoes. She accessorized with Swarovski jewelry.

Celebrity guests included Tyler Perry, Niecy Nash-Betts and Jessica Betts, Sheila E., Kiki Shepard, Lil Rel Howery, Kym Whitley, and Loni Love.

In her emotional speech, Sherri spoke about having to sleep in her car, and getting evicted from her apartment.

“I would look out the window every day and dream. I would see the cast of ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ going inside the clubs, and I would just sit there and look out and dream about one day I could be a part of this community,” she said.

Sherri said performing standup comedy at the LA comedy club and The Comedy Store every single night kept her going.
