Atlanta police released body cam footage of an incident at Iman Shumpert’s Atlanta residence last month. Police were called to the former NBA star’s home around 4:37 a.m. on November 26.
When cops arrived, they observed a shirtless Iman putting a hard shell suitcase on the curb outside his house.
Iman told them he wanted a woman, identified as Joanna Donnejour, removed from his house.
However, Joanna told cops Iman assaulted her. But several women inside the house contradicted her accusation.
Joanna said Iman grabbed her by the ankle and wrist and forcefully removed her from a room. But Iman told officers he asked her to leave several times and she refused.
Another visitor in the house told police there was no altercation in the house. She said Iman gently took Joanna’s wrist and tried to escort her from the house.
In the video clip, Joanna told police she argued with Iman while he was in a bedroom with another woman.
Joanna said Iman removed her from the room, “dragging her by her wrist and foot toward the stairs.”
“Is that lawful?… To be dragged by your hands and your feet?” Joanna asked police in the video.
But two other women in the house denied Joanna’s allegations.
Cops didn’t charge Iman because they didn’t observe any injuries on Joanna’s body.
Joanna finally left Iman’s house after police threatened to charge her with trespassing.
Before she left, she told Iman she planned to press charges against him.
She said, “see you in court – and on Instagram in the morning.”
Iman explained his side of the story in an interview with TMZ.
“Last week, I had friends over and a visitor at my residence was politely asked to leave several times after I witnessed her damaging personal property,” he said.
“The police were called, invited inside and they spoke with multiple people who saw what happened. After assessing the situation, the police instructed her to leave repeatedly. She refused to vacate the property after being asked to leave multiple times and only after the officers escorted her outside did she eventually depart.
“This matter was quickly closed that night by the police after they did their investigation.”
Iman is the ex-husband of singer/actress Teyana Taylor (pictured). They share 2 children.
