Ice Spice is facing backlash for wearing a sheer white lingerie to a children’s Spongebob premiere.
Parents were shocked when the Bronx rapper walked in wearing lingerie to speak to their kids at the premiere.
Ice Spice, born Isis Naija Gaston, voices a character in “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants,” which opens in theaters on December 19.
“You guys look so cute,” she told the children at a special screening at the Paramount Pictures Screening Room in New York City on Wednesday, December 17.
“Thank you all for coming. This is my first voiceover… Y’all enjoy it. I’ve never seen the film, so this will be my first time, too,” she said.
Ice Spice she seemed distracted and nervous while speaking to the kids. She paused to compliment one little girl’s looks. “Hey girl, you’re so cute,” she said.
“Hey y’all in the back,” she said while waving. “Sorry I’m so shy and weird. Um, yeah it’s my first time. I hope y’all enjoy it. I was really nervous but this is so exciting and I’m just so grateful to be a part of this and I’m grateful that you guys came out to watch it. So, yes, I’ll see you after.”
The audience clapped politely as she left the stage. But the parents saved their anger for the comments on social media.
One father wrote: “Panties showing with SpongeBob & Patrick is crazy work.”
Another dad wrote: “Unpopular opinion she shouldn’t have been in the movie.”
A mom wrote: “Her and her stylist really thought her outfit was appropriate.”
