Oprah Winfrey was trying to be humorous when she showed off her Thanksgiving leftovers in a post on Instagram.
In the video, the former WeightWatchers board member stands in her spacious kitchen while showing off her “little turkey sandwich” on a plate.
Oprah said she planned to make the leftovers stretch “over the next few days.”
“Here’s to leftovers!” she said in the video.
The caption read: “Here’s to Thanksgiving leftovers! My meal for the next few days.”
But Oprah’s Instagram followers were not amused. They criticized the media mogul for not practicing what she preaches.
Oprah reportedly lost 50 pounds with Ozempic or a similar weight-loss drug 2 years ago.
She previously denied taking any weight-loss drugs. Oprah attributed her dramatic weight loss to dieting and exercise.
“I truly dislike this hypocrite,” one person wrote on X (Twitter).
Another person wrote: “A sandwich this small shouldn’t hit 70 carbs, yet here we are. Oprah can do better.”
A third person commented: “Such a joke that she pretends to be a weight loss guru.”
Others noted that Oprah looks great for 71 years old. She turns 72 on January 29.
Oprah eventually turned off the comments under the video.
In 2023, she opened up about taking weight-loss medication to lose weight after struggling in her weight-loss journey for decades. She described it as a helpful tool that allows her to maintain control of her health.
Oprah explained that she has recommended weight-loss medications to friends like Gayle King.
She revealed that she once weighed as much as 237 pounds, and that finding a combination that worked for her without judgment finally allowed her to feel in control of her health.
