
Mary J. Blige celebrated her 55th birthday on January 11 with a major announcement. She announced her first-ever Las Vegas residency, “Mary J. Blige: My Life, My Story,” at Dolby Live at Park MGM.

Mary made the announcement on Monday, January 12, in a promo video. “Vegas are you ready? I am so excited to announce my first ever Las Vegas Residency May 1 – 9 & July 10 – 18 at Dolby Live at Park MGM! Get your tickets (Friday at 10 AM PT),” she wrote.

“I’ve been so excited to announce this Vegas residency,” she said in a press release.
“Creating a show like this has been something I’ve always wanted to do. It’s a chance to get my fans together from all over – different cities, states, and countries – to experience something together. My Life, My Story will be just that – with some surprises for my fans that have been there through it all. See you in May!”

The R&B legend released her debut album, What’s the 411?, in 1992. The album spawned the hit singles “Reminisce”, “Real Love”, “You Remind Me”, “Sweet Thing”, and “My Love.”

The Queen of Hip Hop Soul’s trophy case includes 9 Grammy Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, 4 American Music Awards, 12 NAACP Image Awards, and 12 Billboard Music Awards, including the Billboard Icon Award.
