Sinners made Oscars history with a record 16 nominations. The Oscar nominations were announced on Thursday morning.
The Ryan Coogler-directed horror film breaks the previous record of 14 nominations for La La Land.

Sinners’ nominations include Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan, Best Director for Ryan Coogler, and Best Picture.
Sinners was snubbed at the Golden Globes this year. The film nabbed seven nominations, but only 2 wins.

One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Teyana Taylor earned 13 Oscar nominations, but actress Chase Infiniti (right) was snubbed.
Leonardo, Teyana, Sean Penn and director Paul Thomas Anderson were all nominated for One Battle After Another.
Sinners’ fans have given up hope that their movie will win any of the 16 Oscars the film is nominated for.
Oscars gave Sinners 16 nominations but they’ll probably only win like 2… everybody knows they like to rage bait black people for engagement we shouldn’t even get excited. pic.twitter.com/fesQFHEUXH

The @TheAcademy wants us to get all excited over the 16 Sinners nominations, only to give them the bare minimum awards. We’ve seen this before. pic.twitter.com/hSpCfeO3ur
