Robert Cosby Jr., the son of “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Mary Cosby, reportedly died from a possible drug overdose. He was 23.
Mary said in a statement to TMZ: “Our beloved son Robert Jr. has been called home to the Lord. Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in God’s promise and in knowing he is finally at peace. We are grateful for your prayers and trust in the Lord to carry us through this time of sorrow.”
Police responded to a possible drug overdose at a residence in Salt Lake City, Utah on Monday night, Feb. 23.
Mary, 53, made headlines when it was reported she married her step-grandfather, Bishop Robert C. Cosby, 67. Robert Jr. was their only child.

Robert Jr’s death comes only a couple months after his wife, Alexiana Smokoff, filed for divorce.
During season 4 of RHOSLC, Mary learned that Robert Jr. and Alexiana had secretly married in August 2022 at a Utah courthouse.
“RHOSLC” made Robert Jr. and Alexiana’s alleged drug addictions a big part of Mary’s storyline, TMZ reported.
Robert Jr. was arrested in Utah in September on charges including trespassing and assault. He was previously arrested for DUI in 2022.
