A Los Angeles jury named alt singer David Burke, aka D4vd, as the main suspect in the dismemberment of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

According to reports, a new filing states that the singer is the “target” of the grand jury investigation.

D4vd’s parents and brother were ordered to appear before a Los Angeles grand jury on February 11, 2026. His father Dawud Burke was asked to appear as a witness in the investigation.

According to NBC News, Los Angeles County alleges that D4vd “may be involved in the death”. The report also states that Celeste “may have been the victim of foul play.”

Celeste’s badly decomposed body was found in the trunk of D4vd’s Tesla Model X on September 8, 2025, in Hollywood Hills. Reports indicate her body had been in the trunk for nearly a month.

She went missing in April 2024 when she was 13 years old. She would have turned 15 on September 7, 2025.

The coroner ruled Celeste’s death a homicide. The weight of the evidence pointed to D4vd, who allegedly groomed Celeste on Roblox before arranging to meet up with her when she was only 12 years old.

D4vd was also named as a suspect in November 2025.

In January 2026, his alleged boyfriend, Neo Langston, was arrested as a witness in Celeste’s death.

Neo, 23, was arrested after he failed to appear before a grand jury as ordered. Neo was forced to testify before the grand jury.

Investigators believe Neo is the man seen in surveillance video near the Tesla when it was parked for the final time before being towed to a police impound lot in the Hollywood Hills in September.

D4vd has not been arrested or charged. The Houston native, 20, gained popularity on TikTok before signing a record deal with Darkroom and Interscope Records.

His debut studio album, Withered, was released on April 25, 2025.

His remaining tour dates and the deluxe edition release of Withered were canceled by Interscope Records after Celeste’s body was found.
