Bobby J. Brown, the actor who played Officer Bobby Brown on the hit HBO series “The Wire”, died tragically in a barn fire on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

Brown was in the barn working on a car when the fire ignited. He reportedly asked a family member to bring him a fire extinguisher. But when the family member returned, the barn was fully engulfed in flames.

The family member suffered burns trying to save him.

An autopsy showed Brown died from smoke inhalation and diffuse thermal burns. His death was ruled an accident.

Brown’s daughter tells TMZ she believes he did not suffer from his severe burns.

She tells TMZ her father was a devout Jehovah’s Witness.

Brown played Officer Bobby Brown in The Wire which ran from June 2, 2002 to March 9, 2008.

After The Wire, Brown landed roles in “From Within”, “Veep” and “We Own This City.”

His agent, Albert Bramante, tells TMZ, “I am upset and saddened. He was such a good actor and person. He was totally dedicated to the craft of acting and was a joy to work with.”
