Rumors are spreading that CBS plans to kill off Anita Dupree, the matriarch of the Dupree dynasty on “Beyond the Gates.”

Anita (Tamara Tunie) was diagnosed with the deadliest form of breast cancer, Stage 4 Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC).

TNBC is a very aggressive form of breast cancer with a high chance of reoccurrence even if chemotherapy shrinks the tumor to zero.

Last week, Anita’s health took a turn for the worse. She was hospitalized and she requested a Do Not Resuscitate order (DNR) meaning she doesn’t want doctors to save her life if she has a cardiac arrest in the hospital.

Anita’s family, including her husband Senator Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis), is preparing for the worst.

Meanwhile, insiders say the cast they held a farewell party for Tamara Tunie recently.

Fans of the daytime soap opera took to social media to beg CBS not to kill off their favorite soap character.

One cancer survivor wrote: “Please don’t kill Anita off the show please. I battled through cancer. Chemotherapy is no joke…”

Another person wrote: “I hope they don’t kill Anita off the show because I enjoy watching her playing her part on the show.”

A third viewer commented: “Every family like the Duprees need a strong Matriarch leading the way. It makes the drama less because of the RESPECT they All have for her. Her husband is a great 2nd and they are a Phenomenal team. Unless you’re ready to lose your audience.”

Other viewers said that if Anita dies, Beyond the Gates will die with her.

Unfortunately, insiders say CBS is going in a different direction by giving more air time to the show’s most hated character, Dana Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant).

Fans threatened to boycott the show if Anita is killed off.
