TLC’s Tionne Watkins, aka T-Boz (left), is distancing herself from Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, who donated to President Trump’s reelection campaign.
As the backlash continues over Chilli’s past donations to Trump-linked organizations, sources close to T-Boz tell TMZ the singer has never supported organizations linked to Trump.
The sources don’t want T-Boz lumped in with Chilli’s political affiliations.

Insiders tell TMZ that T-Boz has “always let her views be known,” whether that be “sexual health, HIV, the LGBTQ community or Black Lives Matter.”
“T-Boz has been an advocate for the unheard voice,” the source added. They pointed out a 2017 interview the singer did with Channel 4 UK News, where she spoke about President Trump.
During the interview, T-Boz said, “I don’t care about Donald Trump … God is my president.” The source added that T-Boz’s stance hasn’t changed and that, “unless you see her say it, she shouldn’t be brought into any narrative that pulls away from that view.”

Chilli was seen arriving at the Ontario airport on Monday, March 30, as the criticism over her political affiliations continue.
Chilli has since denied being a Trump supporter, saying she mistakenly believed the donations were tied to causes supporting veterans and anti-human trafficking efforts.
The singer said she loves children and cares about her dad, who is a military veteran.
“I made a mistake too many make: I did not read the fine print. I thought I was supporting causes against human trafficking and for veterans.”

Chilli is engaged to Trump supporter Matthew Lawrence, whose brother is former child actor Joey Lawrence (“Gimme a Break!”).
Matthew, 46, is affiliated with the Republican Party. He once ran for office as a Republican candidate in Michigan in 2024.
