Influencer couple Jesse and Ashley Ridgway went viral after they aborted their unborn baby because it had Down syndrome.

After their emotional announcement, Jesse and Ashley received death threats from pro-lifers.

Jesse, known as “McJuggerNuggets”, has over 2 billion views on YouTube. Their decision to terminate their pregnancy has triggered debates about abortion and the right to life.

Their inbox is being flooded with death threats, TMZ reports. Jesse says he and Ashley are getting a bunch of “hate and vitriol” for their “impossible decision.” People called them insults including “murderous pieces of s***” and compared them to Hitler.

X.com users debated the medical and religious aspects of abortion. While others complained that Jesse and Ashley turned their decision into clicks and views for monetization.

What is Down syndrome?

Down syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by a third copy of chromosome 21. Human beings are normally born with 46 chromosomes (23 pairs). But some babies are born with part or all of a 3rd copy of chromosome 21 that leads to developmental delays and intellectual disabilities.

In June 2022 the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade making abortions illegal – even for medical emergencies. Some states responded aggressively by arresting women who traveled to other states to have abortions.

Pregnant women died when hospitals refused to perform emergency abortions to save their lives. Abortion remains a hot button topic in the United States.
