Rick Ross has an explanation for viral photos of him flying coach on a commercial airline. Rick was seen hiding under a grey hoodie in the same airport seating area where economy fliers wait to board the plane.

He lowered his head and pulled his hoodie down over his face when he spotted someone recording him.

First class passengers usually sit in the first class lounge, where they are treated to such amenities as wine, spas and even manicures.

Rick owns a private jet with his name emblazoned on the side. Fans wondered if he sold the jet and flies economy to save cash in these troubled economic times.

Rick addressed the fans in a video on Thursday. “For the ones who wanna know where my jet at, I obviously didn’t get the memo. It’s being updated with Starlink,” he said. “You know what Starlink is? Yeah, it’s the half a million dollar Wi-Fi. Yeah, that’s where my jet at.”

But fans point out that Starlink for aviation costs roughly $100,000 – $200,000.

Starlink is satellite Internet operated by Elon Musk’s SpaceX. Starlink provides broadband Internet service in 160 countries around the world.

Rick responded quickly after the photos went viral because Drake dissed fellow rappers who fly economy in his new single “Whisper My Name” off his ICEMAN album.

Drake raps:

“If I’m lyin’, I’m flyin’ economy, give me a motherf***in’ seat
If I’m lyin’, I’m flyin’ economy, I bet I know who I see
You know how I fly ’cause I land at the beach
When you land, you can see me
You whisper my name ’cause the weight that it carry
You can’t even speak.”
