Rapper Gucci Mane, who was let out of an Atlanta jail earlier this year, will drop his new CD titled The Appeal on Sept. 28.

But in the meantime, he’s pushing his new mixtape hosted by DJ Holiday titled Jewelry Selection.

“The mixtape came out, 700,000 downloads in, I think, 30 minutes,” Gucc told MTV News. “Some people say it’s my best mixtape ever. There’s definitely a lot of songs that I could have put on my album on this mixtape. Something just to get the people ready to know that I’m coming. I don’t want them to be surprised when they hear my album how slick and clever I am on the mic. It’s just a prelude.” Read more

“I gave you nothing but classics, so it’s only right I give you the preview of the mixtape. It was very imperative we did this mixtape for the streets,” said producer DJ Holiday, who recently had his own brush with the law.

Holiday, who I practically raised like a son, sat in jail overnight when the po-po pulled his car over in the early hours of Sept. 1st for speeding. Normally, the cops would have let him go with a warning. But Holiday, real name Robert Avery, must have had a prior warrant or something.

Anyway, doesn’t DJ Holiday take the cutest mugshots?

Updated:
to add Gucci Mane’s remix of chris brown’s “Deuces”. The track was leaked online just a few minutes ago by DJ Drama.
