An email sent out to the blogs by VH1’s publicity department left many bloggers scratching their heads.
The poorly written press release trumpets the addition of openly gay “rapper” Milan Christopher to the cast of Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood.
The email’s poorly written sentence structure grabs your attention.
For instance, what did the publicist mean when they wrote, “VH1’s ‘Love & Hip Hop Hollywood’ releases one of their lead cast members to join the Love & Hip Hop family…”?
I had to read that sentence several times. It sounds like VH1 is saying they released a LHHH cast member to join a different reality show.
But it gets worse.
The email states that Milan is the “1st openly gay artist” in the LHH franchise. But I thought that distinction went to Stevie J and Joe Budden?
And is “homo phobic” one word or 2?
Then there is this: “Milan will join the slew of openly gay athletes and public figures that have all came out…”
Should that be “came out” or come out?
I don’t know why I’m surprised at the lack of intelligence displayed in VH1’s press releases. They probably found this publicist on Twitter.com.
