How to Get Away With Murder, Recap by Variety.com
SPOILER ALERT: Do not read on if you have not watched Season 2, episode two of “How To Get Away With Murder.”
In the aftermath of the night Annalise was shot, Thursday night’s episode revealed that Wes (Alfred Enoch) was not the only Keating Five student who was on site as gunshots were fired — Connor (Jack Falahee), Laurel (Karla Souza) and Michaela (Aja Naomi King) were also at the mansion.
Though Connor was freaking out as he put his hands over Annalise’s wounds, the ladies yanked him so they could flee the scene. “We’re all there, so it could be any one of us,” King tells Variety.
Also at the Hapstall mansion? A.D.A. Emily Sinclair (Sarah Burns), who at episode’s end, turns up dead outside the house, marking one of the two big cliffhangers this week.
As the episode flashes back, Eve (Famke Janssen) gets Nate (Billy Brown) off free, but not without grilling Annalise on the stand to the point where she almost cannot defend herself. Though Eve and Annalise fight over the heavy moment in court, they end up kissing again, which results in another steamy scene — but unbeknownst to them, Nate finds out about their tryst.
Annalise also has an emotional confrontation with Bonnie (Liza Weil), who last week was revealed to be Rebecca’s (Katie Findlay) murderer, while Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) helps Connor and co. dig up evidence on the Hapstall case.
Michaela’s love life also ramps up, but maybe not for the better. She meets a mysterious man by the name of Levi (Matt Cohen) in court, but it’s later revealed that he knew the now-dead Rebecca — when her landlord evicts her apartment since she’s been “missing” for so long, Wes comes across a photograph of her and Levi. “The one moment that Michaela gets to finally go on a date, now we have to be suspicious with what his true motivations are and who is he,” King says. “Is it an accident? Doesn’t seem likely. Poor Michaela.”
Scandal, Recap by Us magazine
Olitz 4EVA! Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and President Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) finally went public with their relationship on the Oct. 1 episode of Scandal, and things were all kinds of scandalous. (You’re welcome.) It was a night full of shocking reveals and snugglefests, and we’re rounding up five big moments for you to enjoy. Big, like Olivia’s wine glass.
Huck Tries to Murder Someone With a Pencil, Is Terrifying
Remember when Huck (Guillermo Díaz) murdered a busload of randoms last season? Well, everyone’s feeling really iffy about him, and for good reason. This week, he tried to stab a tragic press photographer with a pencil, and the look in his eyes can only be described as whack. Though are we surprised? This is the man who licked Quinn’s (Katie Lowes) face.
*Note: we’ll never look at a pencil in the same way again.
Jake + Liz = <3
We know, we know, Olitz is happening and it’s glorious, but what about Jake (Scott Foley)? He and Olivia definitely have a connection, and the spark between them this week was brief, but still intense. Olivia’s eyes legit lit up when she saw him! Then again, that happens to us whenever we see Scott Foley.
Jake and Olivia Get Their Snuggle On
First of all, Olivia drank beer during this scene, which was horrifying. But on the plus side, she and Jake had a sweet bonding session as they lay in the same bed together and spooned. It was just like old times, only with way more sexual tension and no actual sex.
Elizabeth North Remains Conniving
Turns out Elizabeth North (Portia de Rossi) leaked photos of Olivia and the president, and Abby (Darby Stanchfield) totally called her out. Weirdly, all Abby wants out of the situation is to be Elizabeth’s equal/BFF, so guess it all worked out in the end. You know, minus Olivia and Fitz’s relationship going public.
Olivia (Finally) Real Talks
In a shocking last minute twist, a horde of paps confronted Olivia and asked if she was the president’s mistress. And despite Fitz letting her off the hook in an emotional phone message, her answer was clear: “yes.” *Flails*
