Tarrant County, Texas, Magistrate Judge Matt King ordered Tonya Couch to be examined after the court found “reasonable cause” to believe that she suffers from “a mental illness or is a person with a mental retardation,” according to court documents.
The order was issued Friday and must be completed within 30 days.
Authorities accuse Couch of helping her son leave the country to avoid a probation hearing that may have led to jail time for him. She faces a charge of hindering the apprehension of a felon and was arraigned Friday in Fort Worth. She did not enter a formal plea.

Rock Hill, South Carolina (CNN)A Muslim woman wearing a hijab was escorted out of Donald Trump’s campaign event on Friday by police after she stood up in silent protest during Trump’s speech.
Rose Hamid, a 56-year-old flight attendant sitting in the stands directly
behind Trump, stood up Friday during Trump’s speech when the Republican front-runner suggested that Syrian refugees fleeing war in Syria were affiliated with ISIS.
Trump has previously called for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the U.S.
Despite her silence, Trump supporters around her began chanting Trump’s name –as instructed by Trump campaign staff before the event in case of protests — and pointed at Hamid and Marty Rosenbluth, the man alongside her who stood up as well.
As they were escorted out, Trump supporters roared — booing the pair and shouting at them to “get out.” One person shouted, “You have a bomb, you have a bomb,” according to Hamid.
“The ugliness really came out fast and that’s really scary,” Hamid told CNN in a phone interview after she was ejected.
Major Steven Thompson of the Rock Hill Police Department told CNN Hamid was kicked out of the event because the campaign told him beforehand that “anybody who made any kind of disturbance” should be escorted out.
The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment asking why Hamid was escorted out of the venue.
After Hamid and three others, all wearing

The cheerleaders for the NFL’s Buffalo Bills were given the go ahead with their class action lawsuit against the team demanding better wages.
The ruling this week by a New York state judge allows “all Buffalo Bills cheerleaders and ambassadors since April 2008″to come together on the suit. Five former cheerleaders had originally brought individual suits against the team.
The cheerleaders’ lawyer, Christopher Marlborough, told CNNMoney that he is pleased with the ruling and “fighting for the rights” of all Bills cheerleaders who are making claims.
At the core of the case — and similar ones by cheerleaders for other NFL teams — is how they are categorized by the teams. The NFL teams have considered them independent contractors and not employees. As a result, they weren’t entitled to certain wage and workplace rights.
The suit claims that the Jills cheerleaders were paid below minimum wage and were required to attend unpaid events. The cheerleaders claim that at some of these sponsored events they were made to feel uncomfortable by male attendees.
They also say they were forced to adhere to strict dress codes and behavioral guidelines set by the team. The Bills controlled everything from their physical appearance to music selection.
In a statement, the Bills said they intend to appeal the ruling and continue to fight the allegations.
“It remains our position that this case is being prosecuted by a very
small number of former cheerleaders whose allegations do not accurately reflect the sentiment of all cheerleaders,” the team said.
Tuesday’s ruling is the latest development in a push by cheerleaders and their lawyers against NFL teams.
The Cincinnati Bengals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Oakland Raiders and New York Jets have also been sued.
Raiders cheerleaders claimed they’d been paid less than $5 an hour. They settled in September 2014 for $1.25 million.
The Buccaneers also reached a settlement of $825,000.
Last July, California Governor Jerry Brown enacted a law stating that cheerleaders must be classified as employees. The act ensures that cheerleaders in California will at least get paid the minimum wage.
New York proposed a similar law to protect cheerleaders in June 2015.

I remember reading an interview with various Lakers girls as well. The amount of detail they go into for their dress code and behavior is ridiculous. I remember one of the Lakers girls saying they were not allowed to drink water from a bottle around the public as doing so might make them look trashy. And they were also directed on how to use their tampons.
