A San Diego woman who was dissatisfied with the haircut she received at a barbershop went back to to shoot the barber — but her gun jammed.
The incident happened at the 619 Barber Shop on Wednesday morning.
Barber Manny Montero said he gave Adrian Blanche Swain a $20 haircut, and she gave him a $20 tip.
But an hour after the cut, Swain returned to the barbershop and pointed a handgun at him.
Montero said that on Swain’s 2nd visit, she returned with a different haircut, pointed the firearm at him and shouted, “Look what you did to my hair!”
Montero said Swain pulled the trigger several times but the gun jammed. Montero and other barbers tackled Swain to the floor and held her there until the cops arrived.
“She came in with a bald spot on the side, and I am like, ‘I didn’t do that’,” Montero told an NBC affiliate.
“[We] grabbed her arm, grabbed the gun. We threw her to the floor and held her until authorities came.
“She had it. She was gonna do it,” said Montero. “For some reason, God was there.”
Swain was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
Another barber working at the shop, Chris Tatum, told NBC that Swain could have shot everyone in the barbershop if her gun hadn’t malfunctioned.
“Your whole life runs in front of your eyes, so that’s what it did. That’s what happened,” said Montero.
Women often get their hair cut by barbers because it’s cheaper than going to hair salons run by other women.
