Media guru Oprah Winfrey claims to have lost 26 pounds on a diet consisting of bread and water.
“I’ve lost 26 pounds and I have eaten bread every single day,” she said in a Weight Watchers commercial recently.
Oprah said she took spiritual advisor Deepak Chopra‘s 21-day meditation challenge called “Shedding the Weight: Mind, Body and Spirit,” to help her drop the weight.
“Meditation is a way of progressively quieting the mind,” Chopra told ABC News. “We are also introducing the idea of shedding emotional baggage, which frequently is the cause of weight gain.”
He added: “Meditation decreases the levels of cortisol, which is a stress hormone. When you have stress, then you accumulate belly fat.”
Winfrey, 62, posted an Instagram photo of herself wearing a red dress and embracing longtime friend Stedman Graham on Valentines Day.
“Stepping out with my Valentine of almost 30 yrs!” she wrote in the photo caption.
The Power couple attended the star-studded wedding of 62-year-old music executive Jimmy Iovine to 37-year-old actress Liberty Ross on Saturday.
