The intense media focus on sexuality/gender, more than other issues is intentional, and not a case of distinctly arguing for acknowledgment of human or civil rights. I do believe that people revolt for many reasons including oppressed religion, and being offended but that the focus should be placed on those that legislate loopholes, or stir public derision for disappointments.
