Roswell police are not ruling out murder-suicide as the cause of death of 2 teenagers found behind a Roswell Publix grocery store early Monday. Natalie Henderson, 17, and Carter Davis, 17, were both shot in the head, WSB-TV reports.
The bodies were found behind the Publix on Woodstock Road by a delivery truck driver just before 6 a.m. Monday.
Each died from a single gunshot wound to the head, police revealed on Tuesday.
Police say the teens arrived in the area between 2 and 4 a.m. Their bodies were found lying near their cars. Their parents thought the teens were at home in their beds.
A police report described Carter as Henderson’s “ex-boyfriend”.
“Early indications are that they were killed there. We don’t really have reason to believe they were killed elsewhere,” Roswell police Det. Zachary Frommer told reporters on Tuesday.
“Given what the officers had on scene at that moment, it appeared to be a relationship-involved situation. This information can change quickly as evidence and information is gathered but is only meant to be a starting point,” Frommer said.
Carter was on the Lacrosse team at River Ridge High School. Henderson was an honors student and a member of Roswell High School’s color guard.
Both schools provided grief counselors to help students cope with the loss of their friends.
