A Tampa Fla. woman is recovering in a hospital after she was viciously attacked by her pit bull while trying to put an ugly Christmas sweater on the animal.
Brenda Guerrero, 52, was bitten multiple times by her pit bull mix named Scarface in the backyard of her home. Two other members of her family were also attacked.
The NY Daily News reports that Guerrero’s husband, Ismael Guerrero, 46, and son, Antonio Harris, 22, tried to stop the dog attack but they were both bitten.
Harris grabbed a knife and stabbed the dog in the head and neck to stop the bloody attack. All 3 adults fled the backyard, leaving Scarface bleeding in the yard.
Scarface then entered the home where two children were left unattended. The children were not harmed.
Animal Control responded to the scene and used a taser to subdue the pit bull, before capturing it.
Guerrero’s granddaughter, Tina Harris, told the Daily News that her grandmother underwent surgery and is recovering in the hospital.
“She’s doing much better because she can finally move and talk,” Harris told the paper.
Animal experts advise pet owners not to put human clothing on dogs because it may cause overheating. But people don’t listen, and now the animals are fighting back.
