Rapper Nicki Minaj is using social media to gang up on shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti over lack of compensation for her Giuseppe Zanotti ‘NICKI’ sneaker collection.
Minaj, 34, took to the Internet to wage a small war with Giuseppe Zanotti using the hashtag #GiuseppeWhatsGood.
The Italian shoe designer recently named a “capsule collection” for Minaj, comprised of 23 sneakers. Zanotti’s sneakers can retail for $3,000 a pair.
Minaj was initially thankful for the honor, but when she learned the shoe designer gave Jennifer Lopez her own capsule collection, she started making phone calls — and getting no callback.
“This is wonderful. #GiuseppeZanotti seems to think it’s ok to name his sneakers after me but his PR says they won’t take our call,’ she tweeted.
She followed up with another tweet: “Recently when he gave other artists capsule collections, my agency reached out and was told they’re not taking our call.”
On Instagram.com, she wrote: “So tired of ppl taking my kindness for weakness. Free… @giuseppezanottidesign read your comments then hit up your accountant my nig. U not takin WHO call sir?????”
Minaj threatened to send her lawyers after Giuseppe. But Nicki’s shoe collection was a symbolic gesture, not a shoe contract.
Apparently Minaj is going broke and needs an infusion of cash after her mansion was burglarized earlier this week.
Some insiders whisper that the burglary was staged for an insurance payout.
