A federal judge has refused the Pentagon’s request to delay a fellow judge’s ruling calling for the armed forces to begin accepting openly gay soldiers.
Make no mistake about it, gays have always served in the military honorably. The difference now is that openly gay (read: flamboyant) soldiers will now be allowed to enlist in defiance of former President Bill Clinton’s controversial “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy.
The policy allowed gay soldiers to remain in the military as long as they kept their sexuality to themselves.
And therein lies the problem, according to flamboyant gay soldiers who believe they should have the right to flaunt their sexual preferences openly.
This latest court ruling is yet another example of the federal courts’ politically correct, sex-based legislation, which meddles in the private sex lives of citizens.
Gays have long rallied for the same rights as oppressed minorities and the handicapped. So far they have been successful in achieving laws prohibiting discrimination — even though the laws are not based on discrimination due to skin color or handicap.
Instead, the laws are based on who we choose to sleep with.
The definition of ‘openly gay’ is open to personal interpretation. To be sure, strict dress code will still be enforced within the ranks. Which means trannies will have a fight on their hands if they intend to wear feminine articles of military issue clothing on the front lines.
But aside from that, the new ruling means a gay soldier can now put a little twist in his hips while he’s marching, without the fear of being discharged discharged.

Being an Air Force veteran and a wife of an active duty member, changing this policy is not a good ideal. When these Marines and Army dudes found out that the person they have been sharing a dirt hole with for months and showering with is gay all hell is going to break loose. People are goin to be killed, point blank. Everyone in the military knows who the gays and lesbo’s are, no need for the policy to be changed so they can feel better bout themselves, and straight people should not have to accommodate their lifestyles and be politically correct around them. When you join the military you know what you are getting yourself into you knew what the rules were and being openly gay was not acceptable. I’m tellin you it’s goin to be a massacre in the Army and Marine branches if this policy is changed.

WOW! That’s all I can say!
Oh goodness that picture is sooooo funny!!!!
One of the few things we agree on Sandra smh
@Mamacita…I had to scroll back up to read also.
My opinion: Please allow gay people to be who they are and allow them whatever rights they request. Personally, I don’t believe it could hurt moral fabric of this country anymore than sins each of us commit on regular basis.
I would like to see the day when there is no such thing as a down-low man. That he can openly state he is gay and people either like it or keep it moving. Why should someone’s sexual preference prevent them from raising children, serving their country or conducting a meeting in the boardroom?
Pro-gay rights
#endrant
OMG auntie that picture is tooooo funny, you are so damn hysterical. tooo funny.

Sandra, what? I don’t think their asking for the right to flaunt their sexual preferences. They’re asking for the right to serve their country and to be free to love who they want. As you said, gays and lesbians have been serving, why should they have to continue to hide who they are for the comfort of others? Speaking as a friend of a gay active duty soldier.

I too await this day, impatiently I might add!
Where in the hel* did she get that picture??!!
Nice butt. And I am pro gay rights as well. Homosexuality isn’t a sin or even a preference, it’s who someone is and no one should be discriminated against or ostracized for that. Period.
When these Marines and Army dudes found out that the person they have been sharing a dirt hole with for months and showering with is gay all hell is going to break loose. I think the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy might be better because we dont want any discrimination against any gay or lesbians in the military.
Thou O man will have NO EXCUSE on the day of reckoning.
Sandra you need to quit.
I CANT
not today ..or even tomorrow
Sandra… you don’t need to be straight to shoot straight. If the gays want to protect the freedoms that we as Americans enjoy, then more power to them! Now they have no excuses to act like they are discriminated against or treated as second class citizens in society!
As far as I am concerned – Gay white men are the most racist people. I was waiting for one of them to talk sideways in Cali last year when I voted again gay marriage! Didn’t happen though! Go figure!
I don’t see why this was an issue in the first place. I would like to know how does allowing military soldiers to be “openly gay” change anything? Do they get special priviledges? What? I think it’s a whole lot of hoopla over nothing. If you’re gay, do you, why should anybody else care to know that you are homosexual?
Straight people should not have to accommodate their lifestyles and be politically correct around them

Shouldn’t it work both ways?
Hmmm….
I kinda agree with you on this one Sandy…

I mean I don’t walk around saying “Hey y’all…I’m straight! I like men!”
I don’t think it matters….there’s so many other important issues in the country… #kanyeshrug
@rene exacly its like the gays and lesb would be wearing a sign saying “HI IM GAY” for what we all know who u are why make an announcement of it????
I think they should keep “dont ask, don’t tell.” I can see it now, somebody in the field letting his fellow man get shot or injured in the line of fire because he feels that “Sissies should fend for themselves” or “I don’t want no queer trying to cover my azz.” (no pun intended).
Leave well enough alone. They are allowed to serve- great. But I don’t think the day is near when they will be accepted by all, and I personally think this is going to cause more problems for the gays than they realize.
Blacks are just barely accepted by all more than 100 yrs after emancipation, and more than 40 years after equal rights, and everyone agrees that you are BORN a certain race and that can’t be changed. While the debate between being “born gay” and “preferring” to be gay is still alive and well….I hate to say it- but the gays will have no peace.
It’s just life in America.
LAWD that sucka can crack a walnut with that azz
This is a good step. I have a friend currently serving in Afghanistan who is gay. He is amazing at his job, goes to NCO of the month board monthly, and is just really good at what he does. He recently told me that he it’s getting to the point where he has to choose if he wants a life or if he wants to keep his job and that’s ridiculous. He’s very good at what he does, highly decorated but can’t live his life because of his job. I believe this will help the military keep people like him in.

Dear MrsMantha,
This portion of your letter alone is contradictory, so excuse the fact that I did not finish reading your opinion. It sounds as if, as a wife, you’re concerned about not only women, but now men, that your husband may be involved with while on tours of duty. Any man or woman, comfortable in their sexuality should not be bothered with the next person’s preference when you’re protecting this country.
The picture is hilarious!! I think people are misunderstanding the removal of the policy. It doesn’t mean that people are going to walk around with a sign saying I’m gay/lesbian, like someone said. It just prevents those that are from being court marshaled or discharged because of their sexual preference.
MrsMantha’s comment was a complete contradiction.
OMG…WTF IS THIS. LOL
@ohpretty get out my head!

i agree. if they are supposed to be fighting why should who they sleep with be important?
people who are gay have jobs like everyone else. and in some of those jobs they cant walk around shouting I’m GAY!!!!
So why should the military be any different?
I dont give a fck who people sleep with. And I dont think u need laws because u feel like u should be able to share that info and not be penalized.
Now I dont think people should be kicked out the army because they are gay. People should just do their jobs and not worry about being able share who their boinking with others … i’m hetero and i dont.
Good for them!
@ohpretty1
I have been reading SR for a few years and I tend to lurk and laugh, cause yall are hilarious!
Being in the Air Force myself and married military still, I do not believe that our soliders are wanting to wear heels on the front line, I believe they are just not wanting to be discharged if it is found that they are gay. We all know our responsibility when we enter into the military and I think people need to be given more credit…most wont care at all, others will and those are the same people who care that a black man is standing next to him or a woman for that matter. People that are going to have a problem is the same people that already have a problem.
Now I am going back to lurking…
Ewww, I see you ain’t watermark that pic. Just ewwww. Eff the story.
@ Lady Lew – I wil;
@ Toy –
and thanks for all you do!
That’s man has some serious issues.. it’s not his sexuality that should be questioned.. more like his mental state.. Gays should be outraged at this type of stuff.. makes it seem as if hey are not competent human beings, and that their whole existence revolves around sex… Gay people can function just as well as heterosexuals. I don’t believe gay men NEED to switch and wear lip stick and stuff.. they can respect the fact that they are MEN before anything and keep their sexuality to themselves and their lovers and come together and fight for America!
Do people think that gay people are like child molesters.. what do they think, gays are gonna start rapping people in the military? I dont get it.. I just dont!
@ West Coast – People fear what they don’t understand and that fear sometimes turns to hate.
The removal of the policy is not even about being flamboyant. SR put her own twist on it. The standards won’t change as far as dress and appearance. *They just wont get in trouble now* People misread “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” as a I’mma mind my business and u mind yours but thats not what it is. It PROHIBITS them from serving. Those saying keep it cause they don’t care who people sleep with are taking the name of the policy literally
@Toy
Interesting link…I might like to try some products.
The ignorance i have heard out of the mouths of so many people i come across is ridiculous. As a proud Veteran who has served with quuite a few service members i can say that in many cases the othr soldiers arent concerned its not about these soldiers wanting to be flamboyant its about them wanting to beable to serve their country. GTFOH if you think all they want is to beflamboyant.. what they want is not have to worry every time they are called from the commanders office if its because someone has said something.. I am so tired of those who have no idea what this is about talking about it.. These men and women put their loves on the line for the same ignorant asses that dont respect them… dont talk about it i say if you cant or wont do it yourself… I say we reinstate the draft a d anyone who wants to collect welfare has to server 2 years in the military.
Dear ohpretty1
I have no fear about my husband straying to male or female, if he does, his lost….I have seen first hand some Army and Marines degrade homosexuals so that is why I think it’s a bad ideal for the policy to be over turned. Not saying that ALL Army and Marine personnel will react in violence but some will.
