Rap mogul Jay-Z was seen arriving at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday for Game 2 of the Eastern Semifinals series between the NY Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers. The Knicks lead the 76ers 2-0 in the NBA Playoffs.
Jay-Z performed his “farewell” concert at Madison Square Garden on November 25, 2003. But instead of leaving Hip-Hop for good as promised, he stuck around for another 23 years. The NY native married pop star Beyoncé in 2008, and they welcomed 3 children.
Jay-Z, 56, is planning a memorable concert series at NY’s Yankee Stadium on July 10 and 11 to mark the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt (1996). He also plans to highlight the 25th anniversary of his classic album, The Blueprint (2001).
Due to popular demand, a third concert has been added for July 12. Yankee Stadium has a seating capacity of over 46,000.
Tickets are still available for all three shows. The cheapest ticket is $310 including fees on SeatGeek. Prices for his other two shows start at $353 and $496 including fees. The most expensive ticket sold for $4,500.
Meanwhile, tongues are still wagging about Jay-Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy, breaking Anna Wintour’s longstanding rule about wearing sunglasses at the Met Gala.
The 14-year-old debutante stood her ground and refused to budge after four adults asked her to remove her shades.
