The mother of a 19-year-old Chicago girl whose body was found in a hotel freezer is calling for an end to the protests outside a Rosemont hotel. Teresa Martin, mother of Kenneka Jenkins, called for an end to protests due to mismanagement of funds.
Martin posted a video to social media on Sunday, saying, “you know what, this protest is over.”

Martin apologized to anyone who has been hurt for supporting her. “I did not mean for nobody child to get hurt,” she said.
Martin also thanked friends and activists who protested outside the Crowne Plaza O’Hare Hotel & Conference Center after Jenkins’ body was found on September 10.
She lashed out at unnamed community organizers in Chicago who collected funds “in my child’s name” and profited financially from Jenkins’ death.
“I guess the devil do come in sheep clothing,” she said.
Jenkins went missing after attending a party in a hotel room on the 9th floor on September 8. Her body was found more than 24 hours later in a freezer in an unused kitchen on a lower level conference floor.
