Hip Hop’s most egotistical mogul, Sean Combs, expressed shock and dismay last week at the news that his friend, rapper Jay Electronica signed a record deal with Jay Z and Rocnation.
It wasn’t news that Diddy pursued Jay E like a dog in heat after the latter dropped heat seeking mixtapes that created a frenzy in Hop Hop land.
After recording a track with Jay E that was warmly received by the hip Hop masses (“The Ghost of Christopher Wallace”), Jay E. ultimately decided to take his talents elsewhere.
Hoping to get in on the ensuing publicity about the historic signing, Sean Combs tweeted:
“Damn it hurts in a whole other way when someone you felt, and I mean really felt was your Friend, Betrays you. It hurts when Breathe.”
Diddy later tweeted that he wasn’t referring to “Jz” as the “Friend” who betrayed him. Duh, we all thought he was referring to Jay E, not Jay Z.
Anyway, here’s Jay’ Electronica’s response to Diddy courtesy of the crack news team over at Its The Real News:
Can’t stand Diddy’s arse no way. Anybody who signs with him is a plum fool. See Danity Kane, Da Band, Jada & The Lox and the list goes on and on.
I sense some bitchassness coming from Diddy…man up and go work on Dirty Money’s next album!
I say that was the best move Electronica could have made for his career.
lol that video funny. jay building a real hiphop empire over there at roc nation. its funny though because the ghost of christopher wallace is my favorite song Jay E has done but i think overall he made a better career choice. i think jay is the hands off bring me a great album type so save for his input on a few songs maybe the artist are free to be themselves. diddy is a hands on be in the studio type so he gonna make u the artist he want you to be.

Exactly, Jay E is an awesome artist in my opinion and I would have hated to see him at bad boy all pop, shiny suit, diddy boppin…I can say I like what Jayz is doing with Roc Nation
