Tekashi

Incarcerated rap troll Tekashi, aka 6ix9ine, was transferred to the contagious disease unit on Rikers Island. The 22-year-old rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was arrested Wednesday on an outstanding warrant after he returned to the United States from a European tour.

Police were waiting to cuff the rainbow-haired rapper when his plane landed at JFK Airport in New York City.

Tekashi is accused of choking out a 16-year-old boy in a Texas shopping mall in January.

According to TMZ, Tekasi was moved to the 140-cell facility on Rikers Island that houses inmates with contagious illnesses such as AIDS or Tuberculosis.

TMZ claims the move was done to protect the rap star from the other inmates, but healthy inmates usually aren’t transferred to a medical unit reserved for contagious illnesses.

Inmates are transferred to the contagious diseases wing to protect the other inmates from infectious diseases.

Rikers Island has isolation cells to separate high profile inmates from the general population.

The “Gotti” hitmaker appeared in court for a bond hearing on Thursday. A judge declined to release Tekashi, citing a flight risk. Tekashi admitted he was “irresponsible” after he fled the United States to avoid the arrest warrant.

His mother burst into tears when the judge refused to release him.

The rap star told the judge he was the sole means of financial support for his unemployed mother and a two-year-old daughter, but the judge was not moved.

He will remain on Rikers Island until officials from Harris County, TX come to NYC and pick him up on the misdemeanor assault warrant.
