Omarosa Manigault-Newman may have violated espionage laws by secretly recording conversations and meetings with the president of the United States in the White House.
Omarosa, 44, worked as an assistant to President Donald Trump before she was fired and “forcibly removed” from the White House grounds in February.
Multiple sources tell The Daily Beast that Omarosa secretly recorded conversations with President Trump on her cell phone inside the White House.

According to the report published by The Beast on Wednesday, Omarosa used the recordings to pitch her tell-all book, Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House, which is set for release on August 14.
A source who has heard the tapes tell The Daily Beast the recordings consist of “everyday chatter” between Omarosa and the president.
The tapes will likely never be released since Omarosa would be subject to arrest and imprisonment for violating a laundry list of federal laws, including the Espionage Act.
Omarosa met Trump when she was a contestant on the billionaire mogul’s hit reality TV show The Apprentice.
She was offered a White House position as assistant to the president and director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison in January 2017 after she helped then-candidate Trump connect with prominent clergy within the Black community during his 2016 campaign.
Omarosa was fired by chief of staff John Kelly for abusing the White House car service, according to Politico.com.
The 5′-10″ former reality star also ran afoul of West Wing staff in April when she brought her 39-person wedding party to the White House for a photo shoot without permission.
After she was fired, Omarosa said she would “never vote for Trump again in a million years,” and she expressed concern about Vice President Mike Pence, saying, “he thinks Jesus tells him to say things.”
