Migos fans noticed one of the members, Takeoff, was conspicuously absent from the 2018 American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Tuesday night.
Fans also noticed that Takeoff didn’t accompany Quavo and Offset to the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City on August 20 (pictured below).
Fans found Takeoff’s mother’s Twitter account and asked her if her son was still a member of the group.
Takeoff’s mother, Latabia Woodward, cleared the air about her son’s many absences. She said Migos is still a group. “It’s still 3 of them. Take is working on his solo album which releases soon after Quavo’s. Each of them are releasing solo projects,” Woodward replied to a Twitter user.
Quavo also gave some insight into the group’s quietest member in an earlier interview.
“He likes to work and mind his business. He doesn’t like to be involved in a lot of things, he just likes to make good music for the people.”
Takeoff is pictured on the right with the Migos at the Met Gala in New York City. All 3 members are related to each other.
