Last night, MTV aired a one hour documentary on Nicki Minaj’s life titled My Time Now. MTV followed Nicki for 3 months chronicling her meteoric rise to fame from her humble roots as an emotionally disturbed rapper from Brooklyn.
My Time Now had fierce competition last night from BET’s Soul Train Awards and Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta. A sampling of Twitter results revealed that The Soul Train Awards easily beat the competition hands down (at least on Twitter).
MTV’s cameras followed as Nicki, born Onika Maraj, returned to her native Trinidad and surprised her mother with a new home.
The documentary failed to touch on Nicki’s first public exposure which came via a viral YouTube video in which a deranged Nicki (who claimed to be from the Bronx) rambles on about her imaginary lesbun relationship with rapper Remy Ma.
Since that ominous introduction, Onika lost weight and reinvented herself as a silicone and hydrogel filled human action figure worshipped by legions of adoring (and some crazed) “Barbies”.
This chick really needs to sit down and realize she is really a bafoon. The only people checking for her is simple minded teenagers who actually want to imitate her. Sad.
She should enjoy it while it lasts.
I flipped back n forth from Nikki’s show and the awards, Nikki is growing on me she seems like a really cool young lady out to get hers and I can’t be mad at that.
The tribute to Anita Baker on the awards could’ve been better IMO, I enjoyed Ms Badu’s performance and R Kelly’s opening

It was GREAT!!! It was sooo beautiful. I went to Bermuda & Bahamas, but Bermuda was just breathtaking! I would one day like to own a vacation property there. Gorgeous island….but then I had to come back here….to Maryland….in the dingy, dirty US…..and cried during the whole return trip.

I picked her up Wed she spending the week with me..i read first msgs on thursday morning…before visitin her fam for thanksgiving…i kept it underwraps to give myself time to think…continued as normal but had made up my mind that it was ending after i dropped her off on Sunday(didn’t near her trashin my shit while she was at my house). I am so sick of the Nicki and Lil Kim references. They do not look alike, rap alike, talk about the same things, or have the same target audiences If I remember correctly…Lil Kim had her own methods of getting into the music industry and she is too OLD to be spending time on diss records. She was a gimmick in her own time and rapped about sucking & f*c*ing most of the time. Also…Lil Kim has disfigured herself to look like SOMEONE…I don’t know who, but the chick has an identity problem. Didn’t she say…Christina Millian should have played her in Notorious…chick has gone mad. Nicki isn’t hurting anybody and I like both her and Kim, but they have totally different lyrical styles. It is hard enough for a female to make any type of impact in the Hip Hop world…so instead of tearing each other down, work it out and pave the way for other female rappers to follow. *drops mic*

i thought the documentary was well put together it shows a human side to her. a lot of people give her flack but at the end of the day she is human and has emotions. but i do like her drive and thats what really put her in the position she in. the lil kim diss was nice from a hiphop perspective but because she has no other music to back it up its just a hater move basically for somebody who winning.
