We can’t wait until Solange drops her new album Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams next month. Until then we will have to make do with Solange’s new video blog. We love, LOVE her spontaneity and honesty. Solange refers to herself as “the Hadley Street dumb ass” in her first video blog. Solange’s free spirited personality is a refreshing departure form her sister Beyonce who is much too stuck on herself to make a video blog for her fans.
Is she drunk or is that how she really talks???
I respect the realness factor because she put this video up knowing that people were gonna tear her apart with words considerng how sloooowwwwwwwwww she was acting
I appreciate the sincerity, but would have loved if they rehearsed it a little more. I think she made herself look off. Should we write her off as SLOW.

I agree I mean Beyonce doesn’t seem natural its like you can tell that she is never really herself sometimes. Like she be trying to hide the real her. But Solange is more real you can tell she is actually being herself she wasnt suger coating anything.
i forgot to mention that my only pet peev with her is damn it if you are going to do the blog thing please hold the camara right so we can see the whole face not just the damn lips. i was thinking this girl was showcasing some damn lip stick or something.
OH, I think SOlange is cool and down to earth. I didn’t come to the conclusion that she was dangy at all. It just appeared she was nervse and didn’t pratice what she was going to say.
If she would have practice what she was going to say in the mirror a time or two she would have been more at ease. Now, lets discuss the camera position. Girl, set the camera in a position were it shows the entire face. But like she said she was new at it. However, she must be real cool to post it anyway. She is basically telling us she is not perfect and don’t give a ‘F’ what we think because it turned out that way and that is what you get. She if a for real indiviual.

i like her. she’s been invisible to me all this time, but after making myself watch her on this clip – i see she’s cool. i like her – she could probably be one of my homegirls – especially with the short term memory loss. all my homegirls have that problem (i.e, puff puff and then passing……)
Solange seems cool…and yeah, she is a lot more relaxed than Beyonce.

She looks really pretty in this post and comes off as real. Very comforting, makes you feel as if you know her personally.
Beyonce USED to be herself, but she got criticized for it because she showed her true colors. (I’m a B fan by the way but the girl used to STAY looking at someone sideways while they were talking or shutting them down) Her PR must have told her to talk less and tone it down and that gives you the B we see today.

Solange is starting to remind me of Diana Ross with the black hair and eyeliner. Her first video “I Decided” brought it to light.

After I watch Solange video “I Decided” I was really quiet for a minute to let it settle in my brain. I am still kinda confused about it now but she gets an A for effort.

At first, I thought I would like Solange and embrace all this “difference”, but I decided that it’s just too hard to pretend to love Solange Knowles for her musical ability. The girl’s talent just aint strong enough. The songs are too wordy and she sometimes sounds like Beyonce gone wrong….something just aint RIGHT.
I like my Knowles girls to be super hard working, private, out of reach, feminine jawed, divas. So, as much as I WANT to like Solange, I just can’t get into such a free spirited, half-performing Knowles. Solange would have been MUCH more interesting as a Paris Hilton type person… someone who is in the limelight for no real apparent reason other than family connections. I’m ready for Solange to flop and go away. I am sure she would much rather chill and hit the clubs and stores anyway. Stop making Solange work, Matthew!!!
