NBA star J.R. Smith paid tribute to Nipsey Hussle with an intricate new tattoo of the West Coast rapper’s likeness. Nipsey, 33, was fatally shot outside his L.A. clothing store on Sunday.
Smith, 33, revealed the new body art, which he somehow managed to find a spot for on his heavily tatted body.
The Cleveland Cavaliers star captioned an Instagram post “LONGLIVENIP #nipseyhussle”.
Nipsey was not a household name but his music resonated with Black males who saw hope in one of their own making it out of the ghetto.
Nipsey, who was a devout member of the Rolling 60s Crips street gang gave back to his community by providing jobs and educational opportunities to young people who grew up in his impoverished neighborhood.
Eric Holder, a former gang member, was arrested Tuesday and charged with Nipsey’s death. He is being held on more than $7 million bail.
