As you know, the ACLU is strictly committed to protecting your rights to make your political opinions known, except when you’re within 100 yards of a polling place.
According to published reports, people are being turned away in record numbers for wearing inappropriate garments to cast their votes today.
One man in Atlanta wore the above t-shirt to a polling place and was immediately turned around.
Why? I’m guessing because the t-shirt could be construed as campaigning for Obama, who received an endorsement from Gen. Colin Powell, who convinced George Bush that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, which lead to the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
Apparently, Colin Powell is promised a top cabinet position if Obama is elected.
The following is a list of things you should not wear to a polling place anywhere in the United States because officials are really tripping today:
- Anything with Obama, McCain or Palin on it (apparently they don’t care if you wear anything that says Joe Biden)
- No Halloween costumes (this should go without saying)
- No campaign buttons that say things like “BARACK THE VOTE”. Trust, campaign officials know what “Barack The Vote” means
- Don’t wear anything that might be construed as expensive such as designer dresses, shoes, etc. Campaign officials might think you’re being sympathetic to Palin
- Wearing your hair in twists is a no-no — poll officials might think you’re being sympathetic to Obama since his daughter Malia rocks twists
Hey, I can’t make this stuff up!

I don’t even know where to begin!!!
OBAMA 08……..WE’RE MAKING HISTORY TODAY!!
That T-shirt seems like something you would see at a “same-sex” store. “ASS DESTRUCTION”? You say it was worn in Atlanta? By a man? Uhm, yeah, “same-sex” tee.
you must be bored…
No twists? you cant be serious…thats my signature hairstyle when i want to do a twist out..good thing i early voted
Okay where do we begin with this one….And if I remember Colin Powell gracefully bowed out b/c he couldnt support Bush’s shyt stains.
Sandra, you added that last one, I’m sure!
The last two items are stupid because many natural hair sister wear their hair like everyday and for year.
How is wear expensive clothing in line with Pilan Now I could see if they said hooker clothing accompanied with a gun.
Well I just want everyone to get out and vote it doesn’t matter what party you pick… Just pick one…
It’s all true.. I showed up black and they turned me away!!!
GTFOH
Colin Powell didnt know convince Bush of anything. Bush has his mind made when he stole the election from Gore. Iraq was his first order of business untill 9/11 happened. Then he put Iraq on hold for a few but trust that was HIS agenda all along. Colin Powell did not want to put up with that mess like Condi.
Go Obama!!!! I am happy that my father who grew up in Cusbert (?) GA born in 1935 during the Jim Crow Era is alive to see this day
And only a person with the sense that God gave to a wandering eye, would wear that type of shirt with THAT wording, out in public, just to embarrass himself and his mama!
There you go Sandra again…talking out the left side of your ear. Colin Powell did not convice Bush of anything woman! Our Vice President Cheney was running the show. Get the facts straight. Colin had no other choice but to just go with the flow. Sandra you are beginning to piss me off for real.
And that shirt is just plain ole stupid.
Sandra~
What do you have personally against Obama? Everything that comes out of your mouth is negative when it comes to him. I wonder if you even understand why we are voting for Obama. It’s not because the color of his skin some of us don’t jump on the “because I’m Black” bandwagon. It’s because we deserve a “CHANGE” we deserve to see positive results from what we live and work for. We derserve to exercise our right to vote. What would you have to say to a white person who is voting for Obama? Because they sure are not voting for him because he’s half black and half white. We have suffered long enough and I am sure you have too. How can you critize such an individual when you haven’t even been paying attention to the elections. You go off what the media says or what your heard and you say this is not a gossip site.
Sandra you know you are bugging because I was dressed for work when I went to vote and trust my outfit was all designer including my bag.
I wore my t-shirt and put my I voted sticker on my “Vote for Change” button. Those little old ladies could barely keep up with the ballots – more or less police the polling clothes.
OMG Sandra. Do you really believe that Colin Powell convinced “Bushy” that there were WMDs in Iraq? “Bushy” got in to the White House trying to venge his father’s Iraq war failure. Colin Powell took the fall, while doing a favor for Bush I, fulfilling the role of Sec of State for “Bushy”. Let’s be realistic..
I wore a Bright Orange Obama 08 t-shirt when i voted on the Oct 22nd .. with some orginal Ugg boots (expensive) .. so .. GET-OUTTA-HEAH-WID-DAT-BULLSCHIT !!
I wore my Obama pins on my jacket here in North Carolina, but I was careful not to wear anything it would be a hassle to take off just in case.
Sandra supports Obama because she is telling everyone to dress correct in-order to cast a vote. If she wanted Obama to loose she would have suggested we wear Obama Paraphernalia.
Well I wore my Obama T-shirt and I didnt have problem voting. And this is in Michigan.
@ ecstracy, you aint lyin…This one ole lady was slowing up line by messing up the ballot count.
