Below is a letter to the Boston Globe from an Obama supporter. The red flags are glaring. As Obama leads this country into ruin, don’t say you weren’t warned:
TIMOTHY GEITHNER, President-elect Obama’s nominee for Treasury secretary, did not pay Social Security and Medicare taxes for four years, despite having been instructed in a handbook by his employer, the International Monetary Fund, on how to pay his self-employment taxes. And the Obama transition team knew of this when it nominated Geithner in November (”Treasury pick failed to pay taxes,” Jan. 14).
We have a financial system meltdown, and Obama decides to put someone who failed to pay his taxes in charge of the cleanup – and in charge of oversight of the IRS!
Most self-employed people, such as I, pay hefty Social Security taxes quarterly. To appoint Geithner would send a message that it’s OK not to pay these taxes – that is, unless you get caught.
There are many qualified men and women of integrity in our country who can serve as Treasury secretary. I voted for Obama, and wish him success, but I cannot agree with his decision to nominate Geithner. (link)

Let me make sure I understand this: when it came out that Joe the Plumber — who wasn’t even running for office — didn’t pay his taxes, all of you were outraged. But now you ignore the fact that Geithner failed to pay his taxes for 4 years and he even put in a request to be reimbursed for taxes he knew he didn’t pay! If you or I did that we would be charged with defrauding the government. But I guess with Obama and his shady friends, it’s politics as usual. Keep sipping that Kool aid.

Some parents will do anything to make sure their kids pick up the faults they left behind. This is a prime example. The first Bush probably had to pay off many ppl for his son to become President years later. This to me is “nepitism at it’s best”.

Joe the plumber may have been a unlicensed plumber but did not need a license to do his J O B. , He only asked a quesiton and yes he was $1800 behind in his taxes. Someone in Ohio got in trouble for using their city job computer to see if “Joe The Plumber was past due in “child support payments. Sandra, Joe the plumber was not trying to run our state, city or country. He only asked a ? and is now runing with his 15 minutes of fame. He was playing ball in his own front yard with his son and Obama came down his street. Was he a plant? You tell me. I don’t know the guy and he did not have taxes due like Mr. Snipes or Mr. Reily, who are facing or are in jail for not paying taxes. Sandra I love you like a sis only a few years older than me. Joe is played out.

of course the right wing media will not tell you that he paid his taxes THROUGH paying back taxes. its up to us to find out the correct information because I have learned that when it comes to Obama, they put it out there but when the truth comes to light they don’t put that out there for the correction.
This country has been going down hill for the last 8yrs..Now it’s up to Obama to get us back on track. And if he doesn’t all the critics will say it’s his fault. It’s going to be a long and uphill battle but I believe Obama can and will get America back to where is was before Clinton left office.

Our current Treasury Secretary’s personal finances may have been in order, yet what did he do as a public servant to this country? He has led this country into the seventh level of hades because his boss, Bush…let him practice voodoo economics with our money…
And we have seen the devestating results of those tragic decisions…
Since I have been following Obama’s public career for the past ten years…and know about his life…I have no problem with putting my faith in this President…versus the last President…who was a “D” student in college…destroyed every company he worked for…ran the state of Texas into the ground…and acted accordingly when he became POTUS. :shots:

I wasn’t outraged. Heck I didn’t even know he failed to pay his taxes. Figures. I couldn’t possibly care less about Joe the Fake Plummer. I don’t care about this dudes taxes either. Sure he sould have paid them, but what I care most about is that he is passionate about advancing Barack’s ideas. That’s it. We all got personal problems just like Flavor of Love Joe with his attention seeking behind.

From what I’ve read, although he owed back taxes, he had already paid back more than half of them.
