Did Kelly Rowland’s estranged father suddenly figure out who she was? According to online reports, Kelly’s biological dad, Christopher Lovett, who abandoned her when she was 7, wants to reunite with his daughter after 23 years.
Kelly, 30, whom everyone assumed was Mathews Knowles’ spawn, remembers her real father as being abusive towards her mother.
“I remember my dad being drunk and aggressive towards my mom but not me,” said the “Motivation” singer in a recent interview. “I don’t know if he knows who I am or what I’ve done. He must be hiding under a rock if he doesn’t.”
I told you in an earlier post that I once lived in the same apartment complex as Kelly’s mom here in Atlanta. She was an older woman, in her 60s, with very short, salt and pepper hair. She would sit on her porch near the complex’s front gates and wave as I drove by. It all makes sense now that I’ve seen a picture of Kelly’s father.
At 65, Kelly’s dad is no spring chicken himself. Decades of hard drinking has taken its toll on him. He walks with a stiff gait and a permanent foward lean as he cradles a framed photo of the grown woman he’s never known. The old gent has apparently watched his daughter’s meteoric rise out from behind Beyonce’s shadow to worldwide superstar.
In a recent interview, Mr. Lovett choked back tears as he pleads: “Kelly, I love you with all my heart. Please forgive me and let me be your dad again.”
Despite Kelly’s past childhood recollections, Lovett denies ever touching Kelly’s mom.
“It wasn’t physical between me and Kelly’s mum, but there were many days and nights when Kelly would be bawling her eyes out, clutching my leg begging me, ‘Please daddy stop shouting at mummy’. That image of her howling, begging me to stop will haunt me forever.
“I really hoped I would get to make it up to her. Sadly I am still waiting for that day. But I can’t give up hope. That’s why there is a room in my house which I have decorated especially for Kelly, just in case she comes through the front door.” Source

As far as him getting her address. If it was a domestic abuse situation alot of times the courts will block the address out and arrange for a mutual meeting spot if the fathers are adamant about exercising their visitation.
Due to my prior history with my lil girl’s father, he doesn’t have my address nor will he ever find it out from the court.
She prob never put him on papers anyways
I wouldn’t give him a dime but I’d definitely forgive and reunite with him and continue to have a relationship if it’s positive. I don’t know if he wants to get in touch with her because of success, because he could have done that when DC was at their peak.

I found my dad through the internet and talked him for the first time October 2007. I was 23 and had a 1 year old myself. We met in December and although my mother blocked him from being in my life I told him he should have fought harder, put himself on child support or something. However my parents were 21 and 20 and he is the one who has to deal with missing out on my life.
Fast forward almost four years later and my father and I are genuinely close. We speak often and he comes to visit when he can. I can;t until he retires from the army and moves back to Texas. She should at least TRY to form a relationship and see. Then she won’t have regrets later.

It’s wonderful to hear stories like this when they have a positive spin on it. I know a lady who found her biological father in her late twenties and would you believe he refuses to meet her or have anything to do with her. By his own admission he knows that he is her father but does not want anything to do with her out of fear that his current 60 year old azz wife be accepting of her. She was heartbroken! Like #wheretheydothat?
