According to a NY Post Page Six spy, fading rapper Jay Z was totally dissed at a NY restaurant owned by his business partner who also owns the Spotted Pig, a restaurant that Jay Z is a part owner of. That means Jigga owns such little stock in the business that his name probably doesn’t even come up in board meetings.
Anyway, Jay Z showed up at the lilly-white bread “Babbo” restaurant hoping to impress his high brow friends who arrived with him. Here’s what happened next:
-
A source spotted Jay-Z, who, like Batali, is a part-owner of the Spotted Pig, “waiting 20 minutes for a table at Babbo,” the culinary heavyweight’s most famous and popular eatery. The tipster told us, “Jay was really polite, and waited patiently at the bar, but they sat him and his group in the front, next to the window, not even in the dining room.” A rep for the hip-hop mogul declined to comment.
What an insult! They stuck him in the window like so much window dressing! I’m sure passers-by thought to themselves, ‘Isn’t he that old rapper whats-his-name?’
