Here’s part 3 in the popular YouTube series, How To Style Your Own Hair. This video is for those of you who, like me, have no clue what the term “quick weave” means.
Dade County Florida’s Geisha breaks the process down for us in simple layman’s terms so we can all understand — and maybe make a little fast cash on the side by quick weaving our friend’s hair.
In addition to being a kitchen quick weave specialist, Geisha is also a female emcee which kind of goes hand in hand with each other, doesn’t it?
Thank you Lord for blessing me with my own hair so that I dont’ have to wear a weave.
It wasn’t always so– in high school I was practically blad-headed because I didn’t know how to take care of my hair.
Thank you doobie shops!!!
*bald-headed
@ anti, you’d actually be surprised how many people wear weaves that have long hair! I know I used to wear a short one sometimes because I was too chicken to cut my own hair for fear that I would be FORCED to wear a weave if I looked jacked up!
@divamama–
you are right. Many women with long hair do wear weaves. I am just so grateful to have a decent length of hair that I wouldn’t wear weave if someone paid me to!
It was brutal during HS lol
I’ve been feigning like i understood.. but I can’t anymore… wtf is a doobie??
@coaretained
Just a weird word for a wash and set. You know, they wash your hair, roll it up and sit you under the dryer.
gracias.. I felt like the lamest black female ever.
*kicks rocks*
Doobie is a.k.a a wrap (really what the domincan’s do when the wrap your hair with bobbie pins. What I’m in need of)
I have shoulder length hair and I’ve always wanted to try a weave. But out of cheapness (they charge per track + the price of a wash and set) and fear it won’t look as good as the girl on sister to sister I haven’t. Looking fwd to this video when I get home.
I had a blonde quick weave of a short style I had… it was my avatar for a while. Only thing is taking them jokers out and all that glue!
LOL Sandra!! that quick weave looks a mess
I was impressed at what she did, however I did not like the end result. If she used a different type of weave it would have made a big difference. I am not a fan of the “humidity” look. This will save many women from having hair loss due to gluing the tracks to your own head.
well, that weave looks pretty bad.
shoot- i can do that with some bone straight hair- i’ll be good to go.. its better than having that stuff glued or sewed to ur head… imma practice just for the hell of it- maybe i can sell my own wigs and make some damn money like the chinna man
sIMPLE…STYLe…but people like them (shyt that is a quick weave im wearing on this picture!). I can sow hair, quick weave, wash and set, wrap, body wrap, perm, twist, dread, mohawk, braid, ponytail, make a wig, candy curl, flat, iron, crimp, peel, layer, micro braid, and more….you have to do what people like, and make money, its not about how ghetto or how classy you just do your best work on every head that comes thru.

That’s what I say after my kids do my hair. My grandmother use to say it to me for doing hers when I was a kid.
Never had one, I dont like the idea of gluing hair onto my scalp. However, my hair is a lil past my shoulder and I wear wigs from time to time. Shooooooooot I cant always afford my touch up in a timely manner, so on those RUFF weeks, I’ll pull out my ol’ faithful, neck length bob wig. White folks at my job be trippin’ ohh you cut your hair (me – yeah, my ends were terrible) a week or so later after I get my touch up, white folks – wooow your hair grows really quick. Me- yeah it does LOL!!!!!

I call a zig zig end a roach. A blunt, I and the folks I smoke with call it a doobie
I have seen alot of creative stuff, but this knee cap is new to me and I like it. As someone stated above, I’m not impress with the end result, but her technique was the bomb. Not going to try it myself, but I’ll have to ask a few (neighbor)hood stylist around the way about this technique. Too funny.
Anywhoo, I like the quickweave concept, you can shake n go or just sheen n go. I had a quickweave braid hairdo and that shit was so on point, I received so many compliments and had planned on getting it redid once taking it down. But that was just it, the “taking down the braids” was fine, cuz they slipped off one by one, but it was the glue. Even though the braids was styled on a cap, it still got to my edges and caused a lil damage, but my hair/edges r back on point now. I miss having a quickweave and want another 1 cause so they r so convenient.
@ Krysi J, you mentioned that is a quickweave in your pic, what type of hair is that? Too cute.
I love Black people.
A BLOWDRYER YOU HAVE TO TURN ON WITH A PAIR OF SCISSORS…..OKAY.

My oldest sister moved ALL the way to DC to get her license from Dudley (very good school) she mastered her craft and she can be an instructor in cosmotology if she wanted. She always told me to tell my customers not to say thank you but to say More hair…..its just a positive energy phrase to encourage more customers/business.
