Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, 41, sat down with CNN chief medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, for an in-depth interview last night.
T-Boz discussed her sickle cell anemia and brain tumor. “Doctors, they didn’t give me a happy ending,” said T-Boz, who added that doctors told her she wouldn’t live past 30 or have kids because of her sickle cell. “I believe words are powerful. Every thing — every single thing in life happens for a reason,” she said.
T-Boz is currently in the studio working on her solo album. In her spare time, she works with children with blood disorders and encourages people to donate bone marrow.

Good morning all, T-Boz is my hero, she is living with it and doesn’t let a doctors educated guess destroy her life. Kudos for offering a human perspective, a lot of illnesses are a mystery to modern day medicine. Medicine can treat disease but a cure hasn’t been discovered since polio in the 60’s. Also know your medical family history: I have family members with sickle cell, I also carry the trait and have a severe blood disorder anemia that requires transfusions- doctors were perplexed and kept telling me I was psychosomatic and traits are dormant. I disagreed, I have always had difficulty with oxygen when I over exert myself with exercise, once ended up in Emory hospital for a week while doctors scurried to figure out what was wrong. I have researched case studys of black athletes and soldiers with the trait who have died from lack of oxygen. This was the case with Kandi’s fiance, he had the trait and his autospy stated he died from trait related difficulties.

God loves each of his creations… There are benefits to being a believer… yeah almost like benefits a work.
If you were to be hired at a company and they gave you a folder with all your benefits and you never read them and activated what belongs to you for just being hired, would that make sense? Same thing. If you become a believer and never read the manual and know your rights as a believer, your missing out on alot of benefits that God say are yours..
