It came as no surprise this week when part-time ghostwriter Safaree Samuels announced he and his wife Erica Mena were back on the market.
Fans immediately smelled a PR stunt by two reality TV personalities desperate for attention amid the ongoing Covid-19 lockdowns.
They were correct. Safaree, 39, walked back his divorce announcement in less than 24 hours.
In a post on Instagram.com, Safaree wrote: “A man is nothing without his family. Im not a bachelor & I love my wife I would never disrespect the mother of my child or wife. Sorry for being childish & Salute to all the real men out there.”
But that isn’t the end of the story. There are persistent rumors about curvy Instagram models sliding into Safaree’s DMs and renting space in Erica’s head.
That could explain why Safaree walked back his announcement so quickly.
Erica, 32, previously dated former kiddie rapper Bow Wow, the late Cliff Dixon, NYC radio personality DJ Envy, and she had a brief emotional fling with socialite Cyn Santana.
