Rapper YFN Lucci hopes an Atlanta judge will release him on bond because he has four hungry, underaged children to feed.
Lucci — real name Rayshawn Bennett — was arrested along with two other men and charged in the shooting death of an associate, 28-year-old James Adams, on Dec. 10.
Lucci went on the run for two weeks before turning himself in late Wednesday, Jan. 13. A judge denied his request for bail at a bond hearing on Jan. 14.
According to legal documents obtained by Hotnewhiphop.com, Lucci is asking the judge to set bond because he has “four underaged children whom he financially supports.” He also said he provides a home and financial support for his mother in Fulton County, GA.
The 29-year-old rapper assured the judge that he is not a flight risk — despite taking his time turning himself in.
If the judge denies his second request for bail he will likely stay in jail until his trial, which could be delayed for months.
The Covid-19 outbreak has been tough on rappers and other celebrities who rely on bookings and club appearances to make ends meet.
